I (Erika) had been trying to get a date at BYU-I for almost a year, and I had finally decided it was time to try something different. I wanted to join an LDS dating website but you had to pay for most. When I found LDS fusion I was glad to find it free, and immediately started looking around. I was a little hesitant to meet people from online, but when I came across Daniel's picture and profile, I thought that he looked like someone I really wanted to get to know. I wrote a message to him, but then got cold feet. I'm not the kind to start a relationship up myself. But, the next morning, with my roommates encouragement I sent the message.
I (Daniel) wasn't that serious about the website. I wanted to meet someone, but I didn't think that I would meet anyone online. They day I went to delete my account I had a message. So I decided to at least look at it.
From there we sent a few messages back and forth getting to know each other. When we decided that we didn't think each other was a weird-o we switched phone numbers.
Daniel was working in Hawaii at the time so he was 4 hours behind me. I had to wait until midnight for him to get off work and call me. We ended up talking until 4am! And we ended up doing that all through the rest of the semester in school and the next. In August, when I was finally out of school, Daniel flew me out to Hawaii to meet. We had been talking on the phone for 5 months. It was the most scary, and most amazing feeling ever. We spent 2 amazing weeks in Hawaii together before I had to go home. In September, after Daniel had come home from Hawaii, he invited me to visit. Where on top of Mt. Harrison, in Idaho, he proposed.
We were married in the Twin Falls, Idaho Temple on November 28th, 2009 for time and all eternity. And now (7 months later) we couldn't be happier!
Thank you LDS Fusion for giving my husband and I the opportunity to meet and fall in love!
